Hot on the heels of WLOG’S Autumn show “Rent”, we are pleased to announce that our Spring 2025 production will be “Hot on your Heels!”, the fourth show by local writers, Ian Cook and Ian Newton. The new show is set in London in 1957 and tells the story of Jack, a ballcock factory worker who dreams of becoming the next Elvis. Jack’s brother Eddie gets him an audition at ‘Zavaroni’s’, a famous nightclub run by ex gangster Len Zavaroni. Before the audition Jack meets Len’s God-Daughter Terri, another aspiring singer, and they immediately hit it off.

After the audition Eddie overhears Mr Zavaroni discussing business with his minder Franco. He mistakenly believes that a ‘hit’ has been ordered on him and his brother so they flee the club in a hurry. They head for Margate where their cousin Barbara works as part of ‘The Jamborees’ a singing trio on a holiday camp called ‘Muffinghams’. The boys hope that she will take them in and hide them until it all blows over. As it turns out Barbara is in need of a replacement ‘Jamboree’ as one of the girls has eloped with one of the Yellowcoats. Somehow Jack is convinced to take her place, and Eddie assumes the role of the missing Yellowcoat. At first the boys think they have gotten away with it but then it’s announced that Terri will be visiting the camp to perform! Terri confides in “Jackie”, her new best friend, to tell her how she feels, It turns out that “Jack” has had quite an impression on her. What will Jack do, continue hiding from the truth, or reveal his true identity and face the dire consequences of the hitman? There’s only one way to find out!

Why not come along to the Preview Night on Monday 4th November 7.30pm at the Quaker Hall, Smalgate, Beccles and find out all about the show.
